What Does The chamber do?

REGULAR MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS Second Friday of each month from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., in the Board Room of Peoples State Bank.

CORRESPONDENCE  We respond to a substantial amount of mail and phone calls from people who are interested in relocating to Cherryvale or touring the area.

RETAIL COMMITTEE  Welcomes new business owners and Board Members help with their Open House.  Sponsors �Business After Hours an opportunity for Chamber members to network with other business people in the area.

AG & INDUSTRY COMMITTEE  Promotes all Agriculture and Industry in the rural areas as well as the city.

HOUSING COMMITTEE  Continually evaluates housing needs of Cherryvale citizens.

FESTIVAL COMMITTEE  Organized and sponsors the Annual Cherry Blossom Festival, the Annual Christmas Parade and the Annual Christmas decorations and lights.

SEK TOURISM COMMITTEE  Represents Cherryvale at Tourism meetings.  Sponsored the Cherryvale Booth at the annual Tourism Sampler Festival and distributed brochures for the City, Big Hill Lake, Museum, Cherry Blossom Festival and our famous people born in Cherryvale, Vivian Vance and Louise Brooks.  Also distributed brochures on Frank E. Bellamy, who was a student in Cherryvale when he wrote the original 23 words of the Pledge of Allegiance which was published in Youth Companion Magazine in 1892.

KANSAS TRAVEL & EVENT GUIDE  Active in promoting Cherryvale in this Kansas magazine which mentions numerous activities, events and businesses.

AFTER PROM PARTY  Chamber donates a savings bond.

CITY MAPS  We distribute the City maps, which were sponsored by the City and the Chamber.

JOINT MEETINGS of the Chamber, School and City are attended by Chamber Board Members and are represented on the joint Leadership Team to help carry out projects needed for growth of our town.

CITY MEETINGS AND SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS are attended by Chamber Board Members.

COMMUNITY ACCESS CHANNEL is developed and sponsored by the Cherryvale Chamber of Commerce.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DINNER & MEETING  Silent Auction, Dinner and a Speaker makes a special evening for all members & guests.  Chamber presents Community Service Awards to Cherryvale Citizens who are volunteers.
